The Glen Golf Club in North Berwick, though not as famous as the West Links at North Berwick, is a fun golf course set along the Firth of Forth, with wonderful views out to Bass Rock and across to the Fife coastline.
The Glen is set above the sea on gently rolling land rather than at sea level on heaving dunesland as is common with many other Scottish golf links. As such, the turf and course has a little less of a links feel to it, yet there are many fine holes at The Glen and there are always spectacular views from the holes perched above the sea. Our personal favorites at The Glen include the 144 yard 13th hole, a unique blind par three played to a green nestled at the bottom of a hill with the ocean hard-pressed against the right and back of the green, and the 370 yard 14th, a stunning par four played along and over the ocean and beach below to a fairway set high above.
As with many of the lesser-known courses in Scotland, The Glen offers a warm and inviting clubhouse to the visitor who has chosen to include a round at The Glen in his Scottish golf trip.
